Cal Poly Update
The E-Newsletter for University Friends and Alumni

Trouble receiving Cal Poly Update -- or Seeing the Photos in Update?

Did you find your copy of Cal Poly Update in your Spam or Bulk Mail folder instead of your inbox? Or are the photos missing from your Update E-newsletter mailing?

Please add noreply@imodules.com to your address book
or "safe sender" list

Also, please check your personal inbox filter settings to
move the message to your 'inbox'
when the "from" header/line contains
imodules.com

As of September 2007, iModules is Cal Poly's official e-mail carrier. Cal Poly has contracted with iModules to host PolyLink, Cal Poly's Online Community for alumni. iModules is also Cal Poly's "e-mail carrier" for all communications between the university and alumni, parents, donors and friends.

Do You Yahoo?Do You Yahoo?
If you have a Yahoo e-mail account, Cal Poly e-mails and e-newsletters may wind up in your bulk mail folder.

If you have a Yahoo mail account (like mollymustang@yahoo.com), you will need to do this:

In your Yahoo Mail program,

  • Go to:
  • Mail Options, then
  • Filters, then
  • Add, then
  • From Header contains, then type in
  • imodules.com

By taking these steps in Yahoo mail, you will create a "client-side rule" within your mail reading program to always allow e-mails with the invisible "from header" of "imodules.com"

If you use another E-mail service, and you find Cal Poly e-mail in your bulk mail folder, please take the steps above to make sure university e-mail gets to your inbox.

Seeing photos and graphics in Cal Poly e-mail
Thanks to PolyLink and our vendor, iModules, Cal Poly also has the ability to send e-mails that include photos.

Your e-mail program may block the photos when you first open a message from Cal Poly. To see the photos, follow your e-mail program's instructions.

These can include:

  • right click on the empty photo space to allow them to download (PCs)
  • control-click on the empty photo space (Macs).
  • Make sure your e-mail preferences are set to accept html messages, or rich text messages. If your e-mail preferences are set to receive text messages only, you will not see any photos in e-mails sent from Cal Poly.

Privacy

The university's e-mailing lists remain private; Cal Poly will never share your email address or any other data. Click here to read the university's PolyLink privacy policy.

If your friends are having any of the above problems, please pass this information on to them.

Thank you!
