Tickets on Sale Now for Cal Poly Wine Fest April 28
SAN LUIS OBISPO - Tickets are now available for the fifth annual Cal Poly Wine Festival, Saturday, April 28, from 1 to 4 p.m. at the historic Santa Margarita Ranch just north of San Luis Obispo.
The event is a benefit for the Cal Poly Wine and Viticulture Program. More than 90 wineries from across California will be pouring some of their best wines at this year's event, with Central Coast restaurants and caterers providing appetizers, cheeses and desserts. The festival will feature live music throughout the day as well as a silent auction.
Proceeds will benefit the Cal Poly Wine and Viticulture Program. Tickets are $50 for the public, $30 for Cal Poly students and staff, and can be ordered online at the event Web site at www.calpolywinefestival.com. The event is for those 21 and over.
The Cal Poly Wine Festival, previously known as Afternoon Amidst the Oaks, is organized and run by students each year. Last year's festival and tasting drew more than 700 people.
Cal Poly's College of Agriculture, Food and Environmental Sciences will once again be hosting a pre-event golf tournament. The tournament is set for Friday, April 27, at the Cypress ridge Golf Course in Arroyo Grande.
Winemakers and the community are invited to participate in the tournament, which also includes a barbecue and silent auction. Golf tournament tickets are $135.
The Cal Poly Vines to Wines student club is offering a weekend package including one golf tournament ticket and two passes to the Cal Poly Wine Festival for $195.
