Football Team Heating Up For Big Game
SAN LUIS OBISPO -- The Cal Poly Mustangs blasted out of the gate in their first game Sept. 2, defeating Fort Lewis 44-0. The strong showing helped Cal Poly jump over Great West Region adversary and perennial power Montana to move into the top five of in the Labor Day Sports Network Division I-AA football poll. In their next game against Utah's Weber State Sept. 9, the Mustangs rolled to another victory.
Come see the Mustangs in action during Homecoming, Oct. 20-22. The big game is Saturday, Oct. 21, against the South Dakota Sate Jackrabbits. Homecoming highlights include the dedication of the new Spanos Stadium (formerly Mustang Stadium) at noon Oct. 21.
Other pregame activities include the popular Alumni Wine Tasting and Tailgate BBQ on the O'Neill Green. Find out everything you always wanted to know about this year's Homecoming celebration on the newly updated Homecoming Web site -- and order your BBQ and game tickets there at the same time!
Grand Reunion Grads: remember to make your hotel reservations by Sept. 22, and make your "Back to Class," banquet and activity reservations by Oct. 6.
