Prop 1-D Would Fund Critical Cal Poly Projects
SAN LUIS OBISPO -- The November 7 ballot will include Proposition 1-D, a measure that allows the state to sell general obligation bonds for K-12 schools and higher education.
Proposition 1-D includes $16.7 million in funding for projects at Cal Poly.
The overall measure would fund construction of new buildings and related infrastructure, pay for renovating existing buildings, and fund equipment for use in these buildings.
Proposition 1-D also allocates $1.5 billion to California Community Colleges, $890 million to the University of California , and $690 million to the California State University. The Governor and Legislature select the specific projects to be funded by the bond monies.
Funds from Proposition 1-D will allow Cal Poly to provide state-of-the-art facilities to educate future engineers, scientists, architects and technicians to solve the challenges of the 21st century, as well as help meet California 's workforce needs.
