Cal Poly Agriculture Students Take Top Honors at National Career Fair
SAN LUIS OBISPO – Cal Poly agriculture students took placed first and second for their public speaking and research skills at the 2010 conference of Minorities in Agriculture Natural Resources and Related Sciences.
Michelle Jimenez took first place, and Jacquelynne Garcia took second in the Public Speaking competition portion of the program. Kristina Wolf took home a second-place win in the Oral Undergraduate Research Contest, Division I.
First-place winners receive a plaque and $300, and second-place winners earn a plaque and $200.
The MANRRS conference took place March 25 to 27 in Orlando, Fla.
About MANRRS
The members of MANRRS pledge to support endeavors that will always foster and promote the agricultural sciences and related fields in a positive manner among ethnic minorities. They pledge to initiate and participate in activities and programs that will ensure that ethnic minorities will also be involved in and associated with the agricultural sciences and related fields.
