Cal Poly Student Ensemble to Stage
‘Transmedia’ Theatrical Concert June 3, 5

SAN LUIS OBISPO – The Cal Poly Music Department student production ensemble RSVP will stage productions of “Changes” at 8 p.m. Tuesday and Thursday, June 3 and 5, in the Pavilion in the Performing Arts Center.

The “transmedia” production explores the primeval elements of music itself, said artistic director and RSVP series producer Antonio G. Barata. “This year’s production is an exposition on the virtue of love. It blends sound, visuals and staging in a series of vignettes ranging from the abstract to the humorous.”

" 'Changes’ transports the audience to an art museum, where sculpture comes to life, shadowy figures play, and sound is as much a part of the artistic collection as the visual arts. RSVP challenges the audience to enter into this most unusual museum for a romp through the many facets of love,” Barata said.

Tickets are $11 and are on sale at the Performing Arts Ticket Office from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. weekdays and 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturdays. To order by phone, call SLO-ARTS (756-2787).

The show is sponsored by the Cal Poly Music Department, College of Liberal Arts, and Instructionally Related Activities program. For more information, call the Music Department at 756-2406.
