Nationally Known Nature Photographer, Cal Poly Alum
To Present ‘Telling Stories with Pictures’ Feb. 14
SAN LUIS OBISPO – Nationally recognized outdoor and nature photographer and Cal Poly journalism alumna Kinsey Barnard will give two talks at Cal Poly on Thursday, Feb. 14. She will be speaking to students in a journalism class at 9:40 a.m. in the Kennedy Library, Room 111-B. She will also speak at the meeting of the Public Relations Student Society of America at 11 a.m. in Room 303 in the Graphic Arts Building on campus.
In her presentation, “Telling Stories with Pictures,” Barnard will talk about her extensive experience “painting with the camera.” She will talk about photography as well as about issues related to starting and developing a business as a creative professional.
The sessions are open to the public and will be of special interest to those wanting to pursue photography, either as a full-time profession or a specialty hobby. More seating will be available during Barnard’s 1 a.m. presentation.
Barnard lives in Eureka, Montana, but spends at least six months of the year traveling and following her dream to do the work she loves, in some of the most beautiful spots on Earth.
The presentations are sponsored by Cal Poly’s Journalism Department. For more information, contact Doug Swanson of the Journalism Department at 756-6705 or dswanson@calpoly.edu.
