Cal Poly Arts Brings National Acrobats of China Jan. 15

SAN LUIS OBISPO, CALIFORNIA – For more than 20 years, the NATIONAL ACROBATS OF CHINA have been one of the most influential acrobatic troupes in the world, renowned for their outstanding achievements in national and international acrobatic competitions and festivals since the 1980s.

On Thursday, January 15, at 7 p.m., Cal Poly Arts proudly presents this 35-member company at the Performing Arts Center. All ages are welcome (please, no infants) and all student tickets are priced at 50 percent off.

The evening will include acts of circus and martial artistry, mesmerizing illusions, breath-taking stunts, daring cycling, amazing contortions, and hilarious stage antics sure to please the entire family.

Audience favorites like “Bench Juggling with Feet,” “Cycling Stunts,” “Handstand on Chairs Placed on Turntables,” “Straw Hats Juggling,” and “Plates Spinning” will be augmented by colorful costumes and the traditional music of China.

The National Acrobats of China have performed in more than 30 countries, including Canada, Japan, Sweden, Germany, Romania, Czechoslovakia, Hungary, Italy, India, Colombia, Peru, England, and France.

Adult tickets for the performance are $26; student tickets are $13 and may be purchased at the Performing Arts Center Ticket Office, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. weekdays and 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturdays.
