ASI Brings 'Dr. Drew' Back for Encore May 15
at the Recreation Center
SAN LUIS OBISPO -- ASI Events presents a night of advice on sex, drugs and relationships with "Dr. Drew" Pinsky. The popular doctor will discuss topics ranging from his radio show ‘Loveline’ to the hit TV show ‘Celebrity Rehab with Dr. Drew.’
The event will take place Thursday, May 15 at 7 p.m. at the Cal Poly Recreation Center. The event is free for students with a Cal Poly I.D. and $10 for community members. Seating is limited, and entry will be on a first come, first served basis.
Drew Pinksy, more commonly known as Dr. Drew, has had 20 years of experience helping people with drug addition and sexual health. His humor and non-judgmental prose makes him the perfect doctor to ask those tough questions about sex, love and relationships. He is famous for hosting the popular radio show ‘Loveline’ since 1983.
He currently stars in the VH1 television series ‘Celebrity Rehab with Dr. Drew’ and in the Discovery’s Channel’s former series ‘Strictly Sex with Dr. Drew.’ In addition, Pinsky currently serves as Medical Director for the Department of Chemical Dependency Services at Las Encinas Hospital in Pasadena. He also works as an Assistant Clinical Professor of Psychiatry at the Keck USC School of Medicine.
In May 2006, Pinsky spoke at Cal Poly about alcohol and sex, drawing a crowd of nearly 1,000 students. “Dr. Drew has been a success in the past, and this year we are expanding the event to the Recreation Center to accommodate more students,” said Dana Matteson, ASI Events special events student supervisor.
