Cal Poly Hosting Information Night Nov. 7 for the Ray Scherr Business Plan Competition

SAN LUIS OBISPO - Cal Poly's Students In Free Enterprise (SIFE) club will host information night for the Fifth Annual Ray Scherr Business Plan Competition on Wednesday, Nov. 7, at 8 p.m. in Cal Poly's Sandwich Factory, building 19-A.

The competition is open to university students, faculty, staff and San Luis Obispo community members. Individuals and groups with prospective business ideas are encouraged to enter the competition. Prizes for the winning business plans include $4,000 for Cal Poly entrants, $3,000 for San Luis Obispo community entrants, $2,000 for the first runner-up, and $1,000 for the second runner-up.

Information Night attendees can learn about the competition, exchange ideas and form teams. Free pizza and drinks will be provided by SIFE, and there will be a free raffle to win an iPod® video nano.
