SAFER Program Hosts 6th Annual Run to Remember Oct. 24

San Luis Obispo – Cal Poly’s Sexual Assault Free Environment Resource will host its 6th annual Run to Remember Oct. 24. The run begins on the Health Center Lawn at 6 p.m., with early registration starting at 5 p.m.

Run to Remember is a 5k nighttime fun run held on campus to help raise awareness about sexual assault, and to empower the community to take a stand against sexual violence. The event is held at night in order to highlight the fact that many women do not feel safe running or walking alone after dark.

Proceeds from the event go directly to SAFER, a program dedicated to raising awareness and education regarding sexual assault recovery and prevention.

Registration for the run is $20 and includes a free t-shirt for the first 200 runners. Water bottles and goody bags will also be available.

Prizes will be given to the top three competitors. Registration forms are available on the SAFER website www.SAFER.calpoly.edu, as well as in the Women’s Center in the University Union. For more information, contact SAFER at SAFERPrograms@gmail.com or 756-2282.
