Cal Poly and United Way Partner for ‘Make a Difference Day’ Oct. 27
SAN LUIS OBISPO – Sign up to be a community volunteer for “Make a Difference Day” on Saturday, Oct. 27.
Check-in begins at 9 a.m. in Cal Poly’s Chumash Auditorium. Service projects last from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Participants are provided with a free continental breakfast and lunch. Parking is free in the Grand Avenue structure. Advance registration is available at www.volunteerslo.org.
Co-sponsored by Cal Poly’s Community CENTER and United Way of San Luis Obispo County, “Make a Difference Day” is one of the county’s largest single-day volunteer events.
Participants can choose from approximately 50 projects at non-profit agencies such as United Cerebral Palsy of San Luis Obispo, Life Steps Foundation, and Maxine Lewis Memorial Shelter among others.
Last year, more than 400 students and community members participated in the event.
