Noble Peace Prize Nominee to Speak on Palestine/Israel Conflict May 15 at Cal Poly
SAN LUIS OBISPO -- Jeff Halper, a scholar and writer from Jerusalem, will give a presentation titled “Palestine/Israel: Peace or Permanent Conflict” from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, May 15, in the Pavilion of the Performing Arts Center at Cal Poly.
The talk will examine the partition of Palestine, the building
of the separation barrier or security wall – dubbed the “apartheid
wall” by Palestinians – and recent political developments
in the area, according to Cal Poly history Professor Manzar Foroohar,
moderator of the event.
Halper has taught at Israeli universities and has published extensively
on the issue of peace and conflict in Palestine and Israel. He is
a 2006 Nobel Peace Prize nominee.
