- Fall Convocation, 9:30 a.m., Performing Arts Center, Harmon Hall. Cal Poly President Warren J. Baker will present the President’s Medal of Excellence to Burt Rutan. Keynote address, “Space for the Rest of Us,” by Burt Rutan.
- Media interviews, 11 a.m., Performing Arts Center, Founder’s Room.
- 2:30 p.m., Question-and-answer session with Cal Poly Aerospace Engineering students, Advanced Technology Laboratories, Keck Lab.
- Tour of Aerospace Engineering facilities, 3:30 p.m., Advanced Technology Laboratories, Baldwin and Mary Reinhold Aerospace Engineering Laboratories, and the Grant M. Brown Engineering Building.
Saturday, Sept. 17
- Cal Poly vs. Montana State football game, 6 p.m., Spanos Stadium, Rutan to be recognized during halftime.
