Kinko’s Founder Paul Orfalea to Speak at Cal Poly, Oct. 5
What: Kinko's founder Paul Orfalea will make Cal Poly his official Central Coast stop on Oct. 5, promoting his new book, “Copy This! Lessons from a hyperactive who turned a bright idea into one of America's best companies.” Orfalea will speak at 4:30 p.m. in the Alex and Faye Spanos Theatre on campus. The event is free and will be followed by a book-signing reception. The campus community and the public are invited.
When: Media interviews and photo opportunities with Orfalea are available beginning at 1:45 p.m.
Where: Media are asked to meet on campus in front of the Alumni House by 1:45 p.m. Media are also welcome to attend Orfalea’s 2 p.m. class discussion with Orfalea College of Business students in Eric Olsen’s Industrial Quality Assurance class in Building 21, Room 13.
Who: Kinko’s founder Paul Orfalea, a longtime supporter of Cal Poly, took a philanthropic interest in the university in 2000 when he discovered its learn by-doing-philosophy coincided with his personal philosophy. He has since donated more than $16.2 million to the university.
