Sign Up for Make A Difference Day October 22
SAN LUIS OBISPO -- Volunteer in your community for a day! This year, Make a Difference Day will take place on Saturday, Oct. 22, in and around San Luis Obispo.
The event is a national day of service, encouraging people across the United States to volunteer for a day on projects helping their communities. In San Luis Obispo County, the Cal Poly Community Center and United Way are organizing a variety of projects and looking for student and year-round community members of any age.
Kick-off for Make a Difference Day is 8:30 a.m. at the Veterans' Hall, corner of Grand Avenue and Monterey Street in San Luis Obispo. Service projects will be lined up throughout the county; work will run from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Breakfast and lunch are provided for volunteers.
