Cal Poly Homecoming Highlight To Be Wine Tasting
SAN LUIS OBISPO – Central Coast residents will have an opportunity to sample wines from 15 Central Coast and Central Valley wineries as part of Cal Poly Homecoming 2005 festivities.
The 10th Annual Cal Poly Alumni Association Wine Tasting will run from 1 to 4 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 5, on the O’Neill Green in front of the Business Building on campus. Held during the tailgate party, the tasting provides an opportunity for Mustang fans to gather before the football game against Eastern Washington University.
This year attendees will taste varietals from Cass Winery, Castoro Cellars, Chumeia Vineyards, Clautiere Vineyards, Dark Star Cellars, Edna Valley Vineyard, Norman Vineyards, Oak Meadow Winery, Rancho Arroyo Grand Winery & Vineyards, Robert Hall Winery, Rotta Winery, Still Waters Vineyard and Vina Robles.
To complement the wine tasting, the University Jazz Band will perform a special outdoor concert.
Those who attend will receive a commemorative Homecoming 2005 wine
glass. Tickets are $15 for Alumni Association members and $20 for
non-members. For tickets or for more information visit Cal Poly’s
Alumni Relations Web site at www.homecoming.calpoly.edu.
“Homecoming 2005: Forever Green & Gold” continues
a long-standing tradition to celebrate Mustang spirit and welcome
alumni back to the campus. This year’s festivities will kick
off on campus at 11 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 3, and will continue throughout
Friday and Saturday, Nov. 4-5.
Also on schedule for the weekend:
• The Cal Poly Homecoming Court will be crowned at halftime
during the Homecoming football game, which begins at 4 p.m.
• A student blood drive, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., Thursday, Nov.
3, on the lawn in front of Mott Gym. Organizers of the blood drive
are hoping to reach a goal of 100 pints

where speed, coordination and creativity are tested. Members of
the community are invited to cheer on their favorite teams at noon
on Mott Lawn.

alumni, and the community are expected up and down Higuera Street
