Come to Cal Poly for Homecoming 2005 Nov. 3-6
SAN LUIS OBISPO -- "Homecoming 2005: Forever Green & Gold" is the theme of this year's annual celebration, scheduled for November in San Luis Obispo.
Events for alumni and the public run Nov. 3-6. Students will be getting in the spirit with campus activities starting Thursday, Nov. 3, and running through the weekend -- culminating with the crowning of the 2005 Homecoming King and Queen at halftime during the Homecoming Football Game.
This year, the Mustangs will take the field against the Eagles of Eastern Washington University in the big game Nov 5.
Alumni, students, parents and the community are invited to join in all the events for a weekend of autumn fun and Mustang spirit, said Director of Alumni Relations Kim Gannon.
This year's Homecoming events include the annual Honored Alumni Awards and Grand Reunion Banquet, the annual Homecoming Parade, the Mustang Corral Tailgate BBQ, the 10th Annual Alumni Association Wine Tasting and the All-Alumni Breakfast. The Grand Reunion is a bit different this year: it will celebrate the Golden Anniversary Class of 1955 and members of all Cal Poly classes prior to that.
"Every year we invite all of our alumni to return to their alma mater and celebrate with friends and fellow alumni. Homecoming is a chance to visit campus and keep up with the university, and reconnect with old friends and professors at the same time. And it's just a lot of fun," Gannon said.
