Former PLO Terrorist Turned Peace Activist
Walid Shoebat to Speak at Cal Poly March 7
SAN LUIS OBISPO – A former Palestinian Liberation Organization
terrorist
turned peace advocate will speak Monday, March 7 at Cal Poly.
Walid Shoebat will speak at 7 p.m. in Chumash Auditorium on campus.
The
event is free and open to the public and is sponsored by the Cal
Poly
Hillel club, the Associated Students, Inc., Stand with Us, and Hasbara
Fellowships.
Shoebat, a Bethlehem native, now speaks out for peace in the Middle
East
to campuses and audiences across the world. He has spoken at Harvard
University and on Capitol Hill. As an Evangelical Christian, he
started
the Walid Shoebat Foundation.
“This program is designed to give students a deeper perspective
into
what is happening in the Middle East, and to hopefully spark new
ideas
and conversation among interfaith groups all over campus,”
said Hillel
club member and Cal Poly student Micah DeKofsky.
