7th Annual Walk to Fight Homelessness is April 9
SAN LUIS OBISPO – Sign up now to walk to fight homelessness Saturday, April 9, in San Luis Obispo.
Cal Poly’s Student Community Services Center is organizing the fund-raising walk to benefit local non-profit agencies which serve the homeless. Check-in is 9 a.m. April 9 in Sinsheimer Park, 900 Southwood Drive, in San Luis Obispo. The walk begins at 10 a.m. and will end at the Prado Day Center on Prado Road in San Luis Obispo.
“Every day more than 100 people make the trek from the Maxine Lewis Memorial Shelter to the Prado Day Center. This is a fund-raiser – but it’s also a chance to ‘walk a mile in their shoes’ and see just what homeless people face daily,” said Joy Pedersen of Student Community Services.
