Cal Poly Announces 2005 Outstanding Staff Awards

SAN LUIS OBISPO -- Three Cal Poly employees were chosen to receive the
2004-2005 Outstanding Staff Award: Sharon Arnold, Prisila Johnson and Dan Mull.

Arnold is an administrative analyst-specialist in the Dean's Office in the College of Science and Mathematics; Johnson is an administrative support coordinator in the Food Sciences and Nutrition Department; and Mull is an information technology consultant in Information Technology Services-Media Distribution Services.

Arnold has been at Cal Poly for over 17 years. Comments from her nominations included, "She is organized, efficient and uses humor to take the edge off stressful situations. She is always smiling, calm, kind and sincere in her dealings with others."

Johnson came to Cal Poly in 1973. Comments from her nominations included, "She has provided unsurpassed value to the FSN department as the most dedicated, loyal, hardworking, efficient and brightest person . She is the 'glue' that has held the department together through multiple leadership changes."

Mull has been with Cal Poly for seven years. Comments from his nominations included, "Dan represents the epitome of the Cal Poly staff: highly professional, inherently dependable and reliable, creative and loyal . He serves the faculty and students on campus with joyous enthusiasm."

The winners are nominated by faculty and staff members and reviewed by a committee of former award recipients. Cal Poly President Warren J. Baker selects the winners on the basis of the committee's recommendations.
