Cal Poly Kennedy Library To Host Open House June 25
SAN LUIS OBISPO -- The Special Collections Department at Cal Poly’s Kennedy Library will host an open house from noon to 3 p.m. Saturday, June 25, in conjunction with the documentary photography exhibition, “With Our Own Eyes/Con Nuestros Propios Ojos.”
The exhibit illustrates immigrant youngsters living on the Central Coast and will be on display through Thursday, June 30. It focuses on the P'urepecha indigenous youth of San Juan Nuevo Parangaricutiro in the Michoacan state of Mexico, who now live in Paso Robles. It provides a bi-national perspective of this community through the eyes of its youth.
“We have been receiving so many visitors to the exhibit and requests for viewing on the weekend, that we decided to host an open house,” said Catherine Trujillo with Special Collections. The open house and exhibit are free and open to the public. Regular exhibit hours are 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Monday through Friday.
