Peace, Social Justice Activist Benjamin to Speak at Cal Poly Thursday
SAN LUIS OBISPO -- Cal Poly will host a lecture Thursday, Feb. 3, by international peace and social justice activist Medea Benjamin. She will speak on "Building Peace and Hope in a Time of Perpetual War" at 7 p.m. in Chumash Auditorium on campus.
Benjamin is a founder of Global Exchange, the women's antiwar group Code Pink and the international Iraq Occupation Watch Center.
Her talk is sponsored by the Cal Poly Progressive Student Alliance, Passion For Peace, Central Coast Peace and Environmental Council and the local Green Party.
