WOW Looking for A Few Good Student Leaders
SAN LUIS OBISPO -- The Cal Poly Week of Welcome Orientation Program is currently seeking enthusiastic, dedicated and outgoing students to serve as orientation leaders in the fall.
WOW is the largest volunteer-based orientation program in the country, and in order to maintain its reputation, WOW needs dependable student leaders to introduce Cal Poly’s new students to the campus and community in the fall, explained WOW student leader Jason Mockford.
“If you know students who possess the qualities of a WOW leader – someone responsible, hard-working and dedicated, please encourage them to attend an information session,” Mockford said.
The WOW information sessions will be held on March 2, at 7:30 p.m., in building 10, Room 231, and on March 3, at 11 a.m., in building 10, Room 227. Students who are interested in being WOW leaders, but are unable to attend either session, can call the WOW office at 756-2487 or visit the WOW website at http://orientation.calpoly.edu/wow.
Potential leaders will undergo a ten-week training program led by fellow Cal Poly students who have experience with the program. They will learn about WOW, develop leadership and communication skills, and participate in teambuilding activities.
WOW’s first training meeting for potential orientation leaders is Tuesday, March 29, at 7 p.m. in Chumash Auditorium.
