Documentary Filmmaker Mike Wilson to Speak at Cal Poly Tonight

SAN LUIS OBISPO – Filmmaker Mike Wilson, writer, director and producer of Michael Moore Hates America, will speak at Cal Poly tonight (February 24).

Wilson will speak on campus in Building 52, Room E27. Doors will open at 7:45 p.m. and Wilson will begin his presentation at 8 p.m. The event is sponsored by the Cal Poly College Republicans along with the Associated Students Incorporated and the Young Americas Foundation.

The clubs are encouraging members of the press to arrive at 7:30 p.m. for interviews with the speaker.

Wilson’s film, Michael Moore Hates America, has been applauded by film critics, including Andrew Leigh from the National Review and Robert Kohler from Variety. The movie was given "two thumbs up" by Ebert and Roeper, and won Best Documentary at the SMMASH Film Festival.

In producing his film, Wilson has worked with some of the most respected names in the documentary world. He is currently touring the country to discuss his film and its role in the national debate.
