SAN LUIS OBISPO - - As part of National Engineers Week outreach efforts,
Cal Poly engineering students will visit local elementary schools in
order to inspire a new generation of youngsters to consider careers in
engineering. More than 20 Cal Poly student volunteers will present
hands-on engineering activities to fourth graders at Hawthorne
Elementary, C.L. Smith Elementary, Pacheco Elementary, Monarch Grove
Elementary, and Old Mission Elementary. The presentations at Pacheco
will include a Spanish language component because of the “dual
immersion” nature of the school.
