Cal Poly Student Government Invites Community
to
"State of The Student Address" March 3
SAN LUIS OBISPO -- Cal Poly President Warren J. Baker and Associated Students Inc. President Blake Bolton will speak at ASI's annual "State of the Student Address" on Thursday, March 3, from 6:30 to 8 p.m. in Chumash Auditorium.
ASI is inviting both the campus community and general public to attend. Parking is available in the nearby Performing Arts Center parking lot.
Bolton will address issues affecting students, faculty and San Luis Obispo residents, including community relations, campus facilities and ASI resources. "So much of public service occurs behind the scenes,” said Bolton. “I want to share with the student body where I am on the goals I campaigned for and where ASI is headed in the future."
Bolton plans to focus on parking, textbooks and campus dining during his address. He will also evaluate the role of ASI president, the need for accountability and the current quality of life at Cal Poly.
Cal Poly President Warren J. Baker will address the attending body on issues such as the Cal Poly Master Plan, how academics is driving facility changes, Cal Poly’s role in California and current sources of funding for the college.
A reception featuring a musical performance by the University Jazz Band will precede the address. Formal invitations will be sent to the presidents of each club and organization on campus, but all students, staff, faculty and community members are encouraged to attend, Bolton stressed. Due to the nature of the event, professional attire is suggested.
