Cal Poly's Orfalea College of Business Names Pamela McClure
as Director of Advancement
SAN LUIS OBISPO – Pam McClure joins Cal Poly's Orfalea College of Business as the director of advancement, today. She brings more than 20 years of experience as a professional fund-raiser to her new position.
McClure most recently served as vice president for advancement at Pacific Oaks College and Children's School in Pasadena . Prior to that, she was Director of the Western Regional Office for the University of Pennsylvania , where she helped raise more than $2.5 million for the university.
“Pam is a terrific addition to the Orfalea College of Business. With her experience and expertise, I look forward to increasing the resources that are available to our faculty and students,” said Dean Dave Christy .
“I'm looking forward to working with Dean Christy to increase the presence of the Orfalea College of Business regionally and nationally and to raising funds to meet the needs and priorities of the college for its next period of growth," McClure said.
“Her knowledge of The California State University is extensive,” Christy said.
She served as executive director of external affairs for the College of Business Administration at Cal State University Sacramento, and as executive director of the Cal State University Northridge Trust Fund and University Advancement. There, she was also director of development for the College of Business and Economics.
McClure began her fund-raising career in corporate relations at Caltech and also has experience in corporate management and consulting, broadcast writing, production and on-air reporting.
She earned a B.A. degree in European history from Wheaton College in Massachusetts and an M.A. in international education from Columbia University in New York .
