Cal Poly Announces Interim Associate Advancement VP Appointment

SAN LUIS OBISPO - Cal Poly has appointed Mike McCall as Interim Associate Vice President for Advancement.

McCall will succeed Associate Vice President for Advancement Rick Ellison, who is now the Vice President for Advancement at Chico State University in Northern California.

McCall has served as the Director of Planned Giving at Cal Poly since 1999.

"I am delighted to announce that Mike McCall has agreed to serve as our Interim Associate Vice President. We will have the benefit of continuity in leadership, and of Mike's broad knowledge of the advancement field," Vice President for Advancement Sandra Gardebring Ogren said in making the announcement.

Ellison, who has served as Associate Vice President for Advancement at Cal Poly since 1998, helped captain Cal Poly's seven-year, $264-million Centennial Campaign, which concluded in December.

Ogren praised Ellison's leadership, adding that Cal Poly was fortunate to have him onboard for the successful campaign. "Chico has made an excellent selection. The only good thing about Rick's departure, from my perspective, is that I will get to keep working with him as a colleague in the California State University Vice Presidents group," Ogren said.

During McCall's tenure as Interim Associate Vice President for Advancement, Stacy Gardiner will serve as Interim Director of Planned Giving.
