William Hauck
To Address Cal Poly Fall Conference Sept. 13
SAN LUIS OBISPO – California State University Trustee William Hauck
will
be the keynote speaker at the General Session of Cal Poly’s Fall
Conference Sept. 13 at the annual opening event for Cal Poly faculty and
staff.
A longtime California policy leader, Hauck is president of the
California Business Roundtable. He is also co-chair of the California
Performance Review (CPR) Commission, appointed by Governor
Schwarzenegger to conduct public hearings on the CPR’s findings
and
recommendations.
Hauck will speak about the relationship between the CSU system and the
California economy and workforce development. He will also discuss the
CSU’s role in fostering a healthy state economy that provides
opportunity for all citizens.
Cal Poly President Warren J. Baker will also address faculty and staff
regarding the university’s priorities for the year.
Fall Conference also includes recognition for Cal Poly’s distinguished
teachers, the university’s outstanding faculty advisor and outstanding
staff members. For the first time, the conference will include a new
award recognizing faculty achievements in research, creative activity
and professional development.
The General Session kicks off a week of meetings, seminars and orientation for faculty.
The event is not open to the general public, but media wishing to cover
Hauck’s address, President Baker’s remarks or other portions
of Fall
