Cal Poly Opens Winter Quarter to Transfer Student Admissions
Thanks to State Budget

SAN LUIS OBISPO -- Due to additional funding authorized late this summer
by the California Legislature, Cal Poly is increasing access for
upper-division transfer students for the 2005 Winter Quarter.

“As a result of the late summer funding granted to the California State
University System, we are reopening the application filing period to
new, upper-division transfer applicants for winter 2005,” said Assistant
Vice President for Admissions & Financial Aid James Maraviglia.
“Applications will be accepted on a rolling basis until our new
enrollment goals have been filled.”

Applicants must have 60 or more transferable semester units by the time
of transfer. Applicants who have met the CSU and Cal Poly eligibility
requirements by the end of the Fall 2004 term will be considered for
winter admission in all but the following undergraduate majors: Art and
Design; Architecture; Construction Management; Kinesiology; Mechanical
Engineering; Music; Psychology; and Speech Communication.

International students and/or those who have obtained all or part of
their college education internationally will not be considered for this
option.

It is important for applicants to submit transcripts from all colleges
attended in support of their application as soon as possible to maximize
registration options, Maraviglia stressed.

Students should apply through the California State University Mentor
application Web site at: www.csumentor.edu.
