Cal Poly to Host ‘Entrepreneurship Day,’ Competition and Awards March 4
SAN LUIS OBISPO -- Cal Poly’s Orfalea College of Business, the
California Central Coast Research Park and the Cal Poly Entrepreneurship
Club are presenting ‘Entrepreneurship Day’ on campus March
4. Several
events are free and open to the public, including a venture capital
workshop and a student business plan competition.
Entrepreneurship Day starts with a presentation by David Cremin,
managing director of DFJ Frontier. Cremin will speak on “Venture
Capital
for Your Idea,” from 11 a.m. to noon in the Room 286 of the Fisher
Science Building on campus.
Cremin’s lecture will be followed by presentations from the five
finalists in the Orfalea College of Business’s annual Ray Scherr
Business Plan Competition. The competition runs between 1:30 p.m. and
5
p.m. at Vista Grande restaurant on the Cal Poly campus. It will be
followed by an awards reception from 5-7 p.m. in Vista Grande.
