Why: to issue in-depth study of how Cal Poly impacts the economy of the city of San Luis Obispo, surrounding communities, and the County of San Luis Obispo. The latest study by OCOB Finance Professor Kenneth Reiner has found that Cal Poly contributes more than $1 billion to the local economy annually, either directly or indirectly.
Press kits with a full color copy of the multi-page study along with a press release summarizing its findings will be available at the conference.
The conference will mark the official release of the study. Professor Reiner and OCOB Interim Dean Teresa Swartz and other Cal Poly officials will be on hand.
