Cal Poly Student Wins the National Dairy Shrine Student Recognition Award

SAN LUIS OBISPO – Senior Agribusiness and Dairy Science major Kate
Briggs was chosen to receive the 2004 National Dairy Shrine Student
Recognition Award.

Biggs, of Turner, Maine, will be recognized for her achievements at the
National Dairy Shrine banquet held in conjunction with the World Dairy
Exposition Oct. 2 in Madison, Wisc. She will receive a plaque and $1500,
in addition to being listed as a winner at the National Dairy Shrine
Museum.

The award is presented to the outstanding undergraduate dairy production
student in the nation to encourage leadership in the dairy cattle
industry. Six of the last 18 recipients of the award have been from Cal
Poly

Awards are based on leadership ability, activities, interest, and
experience with dairy cattle, academic standing and future plans.
