WOW 2004 Is Guaranteed To Rock!
SAN LUIS OBISPO -- The Week
of Welcome Orientation Program is back and
in full effect. The largest student volunteer orientation program in the
country is ready to show off how much Cal Poly and WOW rock! This year
more than 550 student volunteers will welcome approximately 2500 new
students to Cal Poly.
The orientation week begins Saturday, September 11, as students move
into their new community and the residence halls during Family
Orientation Weekend. New students will join their WOW groups Monday,
September 13, and will stay with them through Friday, September 17, for
five days of programming, games and special events.
WOW groups will be comprised of 10-15 new students and two student
leaders. All WOW orientation leaders graduated from a comprehensive
training program during spring quarter of the last academic year. Each
student volunteer completed more than 40 hours of training in which they
learned leadership, communication and social skills that will enable
them to lead successful WOW groups this fall.
