Cal Poly Society of Women EngineersSelects Five Outstanding Student Members
SAN LUIS OBISPO -- Cal Poly's Society of Women Engineers, in cooperation
with Hewlett-Packard, has chosen five of its members to receive the
Outstanding Women in Engineering and Technology award.
Chosen from 29 nominees, the winners are Jennifer Fino, a materials
engineering senior from Castro Valley; Laurel Koester, industrial
engineering senior, Concord; Tracy Leavens, aerospace engineering
senior, Poway; Amanda Runciman, materials engineering senior, Santa
Rosa; and Samantha Shelton, industrial engineering senior, Thousand
Oaks.
Candidates for the award were ranked using four criteria: faculty
recommendations, demonstrated leadership, related work experience and
grade point average.
The five honorees received new computer printers, compliments of
Hewlett-Packard.
