New Cal Poly Discussion Series to Focus on International Terrorism

SAN LUIS OBISPO -- Cal Poly is sponsoring a fall quarter series of
panel discussions titled "Seminars on International Terrorism."  The
first is set for 7-9 p.m. Wednesday (Oct. 24) in the Pavilion in the
Performing Arts Center's Christopher Cohan Center.

Panelists for the presentation, "Central Asia and the Middle East: An
Overview," include Political Science Professor Bud Evans, History
Professor Manzar Foroohar, Geography Professor James Keese and
Aerospace Engineering Professor Faysal Kolkailah. Political Science
Professor Phil Fetzer will moderate the panel in a discussion of Islam
and the geography, history and politics of Central Asia and the Middle
East.

The series will continue on Nov. 14 with discussion focusing on
"International Politics and Terrorism," and on Nov. 28 with a look at
military and intelligence issues.  Those forums will also be 7-9 p.m.
in the Christopher Cohan Center's Pavilion.

The panel discussions are designed to provide information on topics of
general interest to the community. They are free and open to the
public.
