Terrorism Discussion To Continue Nov. 28 at Cal Poly

SAN LUIS OBISPO -- Cal Poly’s discussion series on international politics and terrorism will continue at 7 p.m. Nov. 28 with a look at military and intelligence issues.

The third forum in the continuing series will be in the Christopher Cohan Center Pavilion. Panelists will be Political Science Professor Emeritus Randal Cruikshanks, speaking on intelligence issues, and, on the military side, California Army National Guard Lt. Col. Larry Kimmel Jr.  They will address the objectives that guide the military and intelligence communities as they respond to international terrorism and the problems they face.

Cruikshanks served as an Army intelligence officer in Europe before joining the Cal Poly faculty.  He has an extensive academic background in international relations.

Kimmel, post commander at Camp Roberts, has had a 35-year career in the Armed Forces, including service in Airborne Special Forces in Vietnam. He has served in the National Guard since 1983 and was camp commander at Camp San Luis Obispo in 1995-96.

Political Science Professor Phil Fetzer will moderate the discussion, designed to provide information of general interest to the community. The forum is free and open to the public. For more information contact Anny Morrobel-Sosa at 756-1380 or Fetzer at 756-6147.
